Galaktikon - II: Become the Storm

Perhaps it’s because it’s so hard to differentiate his Galaktikon work from Dethklok on a stylistic level, but the album is hard to hear as more than simply less haywire (in the right way) Dethklok. For being less campy and absurdly silly, its musicality is not much more respect-worthy than Dethklok’s already is, so it leaves itself with not much incentive to be played instead of The Dethalbum. I was sort of hoping for more in the way of experimentation, but for what it presents, it’s not musically weak and it has its highs and lows, it’s just more run-of-the-mill melodeath than I expect from someone who’s proved themselves as brilliant as Mr. Small has.
