Project 86 - Sheep Among Wolves

At only 35 minutes, it’s hard to be too upset about how few the moments of originality are and the few times the album plays too easily into early 2000′s post-hardcore/alt. metal patterns. It’s not a particularly amazing punching-fest from the band, but it has some moments of freshness like the ethereal guitar work and ascendant vocal melodies on “Dead Man’s Switch” and the brooding title track. “Into Another” also finds the band likely unintentionally but coolly channeling recent Marilyn Manson. It’s not the kind of hardcore album that will blow anybody away, but it can satisfy a craving if you can’t reach for the new Code Orange for some reason.
