Rings of Saturn - Ultu Ulla

When it comes to Rings of Saturn, it’s kind of a matter of if you can vibe with the ridiculousness of the technicality of their music or if their unreal tech-death is too absurd to handle. I really enjoy their music when I can find a groove I like or a memorable hook and it took until Lugal Ki En for me to feel satisfied enough with a full project from them. Ultu Ulla is one of those albums that’s definitely not winning over any opponents and just barely enough to tickle the fancies of the group’s fans. It’s not as memorable or as fresh as their last album, and without the moments of excitement like “Natural Selection” and “Senseless Massacre”, the album unfortunately ends up drowning itself out in a haze of meaningless tech wankery that’s no longer comedic and not groomed enough to hold any attention.
